Best Sound Settings for My MP3'sWith all the plethora and variety of music listening devices, platforms, and mediums in the world today, mixing great sounding music for a "one size fits all" audience is very challenging for any audio engineer. The purpose of this page is to explore various options that exist for MP3 playback of my solo piano music and how you can get the most enjoyable and pleasurable listening experience from my MP3's. By explaining my own mixing process, I can help you achieve the greatest listening pleasure from my MP3's and avoid dissatisfaction.
Yours Ears, Your Settings!Of course, all this may be a moot point if your used to adjusting your sound settings, EQ settings, using different music players, etc.. for the different types of music you encounter. Just keep in mind that Solo Piano Music in general usually requires rich bass and crystal clear highs to really get the best "tone experience" out of the Piano that was recorded. The Piano is a rich and incredibly versatile instrument, having many subtle qualities, and able to produce a variety of tones, from booming lows, to sharp cutting highs, to smooth flowing mid range frequencies. The dynamic range of the Piano also must be taken into consideration because so much of Piano performance and emotional impact is based on the dynamics (loudness or softness) of the performance itself, so keeping the original dynamic structure in place that the Composer intended will produce the greatest artistic listening experience for you.
