About
Jonathan Taylore
Currently, I am an Entrepreneur, eCommerce Consultant, Internet Marketer, Web Designer, and Writer in addition to being a Musician and Music Producer. The album "Solo Piano Romance" is my first music release to the general public and represents my deep love for solo piano music and composing for the instrument. I have been playing and composing on the piano for over 15 years now and every minute has been a labor of love. Although I have never attended any formal music schools, colleges, or universities, I have been a admirer, student, and practitioner of the musical arts since childhood.
In addition to the piano, I also play the guitar, which was actually my first instrument. I started playing guitar at the age of 12 and quickly became proficient at it by the age of 18. Later, when in my 20's, I started to play the piano as well.

Although guitar was my first instrument, I fell in love with the piano later on from listening to the solo piano music of Frédéric Chopin. The harmonic beauty of Chopin's compositions, along with the depth of his pathos and complete vulnerability of expression, took my mind and heart to musical places I never knew existed. To this day, Maestro Chopin is still my favorite composer and primary inspiration, which is why I dedicated 2 of the piano pieces on my new album to him and his legacy of greatness (namely "Ballad in E Minor, Op. 65" and "Consolation in F Major, Op.62').
After Chopin, I fell in love with the solo piano music of many other great composers such as Ludwig Van Beethoven, Carl Czerny, Mozart, Bach, and especially the pianists from the "Romantic Period" of music history, namely, Franz Liszt, Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff. Later I moved on and fell in love with Impressionist composers such as Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, etc. etc..
After that, I began to become inspired by the "New Age" style of piano, as well as the various modern forms of piano music, being especially inspired by the piano music of Vangelis and Enya. Moreover, many of the great movie soundtrack composers such as John Barry, Thomas Newman, James Horner, Randy Edelman, and John Williams also influenced and inspired me.
Truly, it was these modern composers who motivated me to let go of tradition and restrictive form, and move into pure untethered creativity. Their influence freed my mind and enabled me to write piano music that was much deeper, more introspective, and atmospheric (such as the "Magia Fantasia" pieces you'll hear on "Solo Piano Romance"). Further on in my musical growth, I also studied Jazz Piano (focusing on the Ballad Style), being influenced and inspired by such great jazz pianists as Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, and many others.
I'd also like to note that you will see a dedication to several composers on many of my piano pieces beneath the "Solo Piano Romance" sample videos. Each piece on the album is not only a celebration of my own creativity and piano ability, but also a dedication and commendation to the many great composers (and/or other people) that have inspired me throughout my long and inspiring journey with the piano.
Well, that's enough about me friends! Now it's time for you to listen to my piano music. I hope you enjoy my labor of love! I feel that I have created a truly unique album of solo piano music that will stand the test of time and, hopefully, inspire other pianists, composers, and musicians to reach down within themselves and find their own spark of true uniqueness and creativity.
Cheers!
